Summary Bio – Luke started as a field hand working in Texas and Oklahoma providing measurement-while-drilling (MWD) and directional drilling services for Schlumberger.  He has worked supporting operations in drilling and measurement in Russia and the United States, being promoted along the way to his current position managing the Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) team, overseeing the sustaining engineering and maintenance of SLB’s assets worldwide. TLM’s mission is to enable the best performance of assets anytime, anywhere.  Luke earned a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University and currently resides in the greater Houston area.

Abstract:  In October of 2022, Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB) announced its new name—SLB—underscoring the company’s vision for a decarbonized energy future and affirming its transformation from the world’s largest oilfield services company to a global technology company focused on driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.  Luke Kurwertz will discuss their plans for creating and deploying the technology needed to enable net zero for SLB customers and the planet.
